Learn to sail. Build confidence. Make friends.
For more than 20 years, Vallarta Yacht Club's Junior Sailing Program has introduced children to the excitement of sailing on Banderas Bay.
Our program welcomes young sailors ages 6-18, from complete beginners to aspiring competitive sailors. With experienced, multilingual instructors and support from VYC volunteers and sailing families, students learn in a safe, encouraging environment.
Sailing develops independence, teamwork, leadership, physical fitness, and an understanding of the wind and water.
VYC is proud that graduates of its Junior Sailing Program have gone on to compete at national, international, and Olympic levels.

Benefits for VYC Members
Existing VYC Flag Members receive credit for their regular membership dues toward the Junior Sailing Program fee. If their monthly dues are below the program fee, they pay the difference. For members who pay annually, the monthly equivalent is used.
Membership Opportunities for Junior Sailing Families
Families who are not currently VYC members may enroll their children in Junior Sailing without immediately becoming Flag Members.
After six consecutive months of Junior Sailing enrollment and payment, eligible families can apply for VYC Flag Membership without paying the initiation fee, provided the child remains enrolled and the applicable program fees continue to be paid.
Families who prefer to join immediately may also apply for Flag Membership by paying the applicable initiation fee.
Flag Membership opens up additional club benefits for the entire family, including access to sailing activities, social events, dining benefits, and more.
Financial assistance is available. Please contact us to learn more.
